If you are not comfortable navigating our local waters by yourself, or if you just prefer to have someone on board who is familiar with the area and knows how to catch fish, our fully-guided fishing packages will be a perfect match. Our charter boat captains have years of experience on these waters and promise to take you to rich fishing grounds that consistently produce four of the five types of pacific salmon, halibut, and other species of bottom fish. Whether it is that elusive king salmon that you are seeking, or that chance at a big halibut, our guides promise to work their hardest to ensure that you come home with a nice catch!

Our self-guided packages are designed for the do-it-yourselfer. You are the captain as you take your 14-foot skiff out onto our protected Pacific Ocean waters. These waters are popular not only because of the calm seas, but because they are main thoroughfares for salmon returning to their rivers to spawn. Many derby-winning king salmon have been caught within sight of our dock! Pinks, chums, and silvers also run through this area making it a popular fishing spot for local anglers as well.

When you are tired of fishing for salmon
you are only a short run back to the resort for a hot lunch
or an afternoon nap. Bottom fishing may take up your afternoon
as you wait for that halibut to make lunch out of your herring.
Local scenery can provide a refreshing afternoon of sightseeing
on the water, and local trails and hiking routes only accessible
by boat offer hours of breathtaking beauty as you traverse the
local rainforest. Whatever you pleasure, having your own boat
allows you the versatility to fish and sightsee as much, or
as little, as you like.
The Luxor Outboard Thunder Jet is the larger boat that we rent for self-guided fishing expeditions. The information below is for the Thunder Jet.

Freshwater fishing packages combine fantastic
bush-plane flightseeing with outstanding fishing. Rainbow trout,
coastal cutthroat, dolly varden, eastern brook, and grayling
are all available near Ketchikan. Whether you are an experienced
fly fishermen or just beginning, our guides will put you on
to some of the best fresh-water fishing around. Light spinning
gear is also a popular way to take fish from some of the most
pristine country on earth. Some of the best fishing grounds
in our area lie within the Misty Fjord's National Monument.
Towering peaks and granite walls, snow-melt lakes and wildlife
abound in these glacier-carved fjords. A DeHaviland Beaver,
Otter, or a Cessna 185 will transport you and your party to
a remote fishing site (depending on the weather and the type
of fish that you are after) and will pick you up at the end
of the day.
Since these areas are only accessible by air, your party will most likely be the only people that you see the entire day! Multiple-day fishing packages will have the opportunity to fish a different lake or river each day of their trip. While we promote catch and release of our lake and river stock, a shore lunch of your catch can be prepared at your request. These private, fully-outfitted guided day excursions provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience, even if you end up coming back year after year. Package prices are based on a minimum of four people. Additional charges for the air  charter portion of the package may apply to groups smaller than four.

Our combination freshwater/saltwater guided fishing trips are perfect for guests who can't make up their mind about fresh or saltwater fishing. Before arriving at the resort guests will make arrangements to split their trip into saltwater days and freshwater days. Guests are free to allocate their fishing days how they see fit -- a four day trip might include two days each of freshwater and saltwater fishing, or maybe three days of one type of fishing and one day of the other. Whatever your preference we are sure to be able to tailor a package that will meet your needs. Targeted freshwater species will be determined with the guide on the day you fish, based on fishermen preference, availability, and weather. Rates are based on double occupancy per room, with a minimum or four people per fishing party.
